Leigh is a former designer for Radio City Music Hall and assistant to the Creative Director for Peter Max Studios, both in New York City. She opened her own studio showroom in 2013.
Borders Books & Music Stores commissioned her colorful murals and her greeting cards were carried in their stores. As an author- illustrator, she is publishing her illustrated storybooks. Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn Harbor, Long Island hosted her largest, one woman 40 piece gallery exhibition.
She was most honored to be exhibited with her mother, at their duo, month long show at a local Long Island library with 15 works each in 2004-2005.
Leigh travels to London, New York, Hawaii, Arizona, California, the Adirondacks and Florida which influences her paintings often created on location.
Leigh Chapman, award winning artist, will demonstrate her artistry on greeting cards. She is the designer of her line of personalized art cards “Heart First Greetings” and framed prints. Her greeting cards are currently available at boutique shops on Long Island’s Gold Coast and are available through her website. Heart First Greetings have sold at a national collection of bookstores as well. Since 1994, Leigh has demonstrated her art at lectures for adults and children.
She was on staff in Roslyn Harbor at the Nassau County Museum of Art, the recipient of NYS award for top 12 Museums by Governor Pataki.
Upon graduation from High School and receiving the Sidney Seif Award for creative art, she attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree as well as an Associates degree in Applied Science.
She was honored with the prestigious George Levinson Memorial Scholar award for art academics and student service at FIT.
She honed her graphic skills during affiliation with Orit design, The Radio City Music Hall Art Department, Leavitt Advertising, and significantly, The Peter Max Studio as an assistant to the Art Director. “Freelance” Clients include: The Blue Note Jazz Club, NYC.
